    Hey guys,

I've seen a few videos of converting the Envy 14's screen to a touchscreen mearly by changing the screen. With Windows 8 round the corner I wondered if a dock like tablet conversion would be possible? (Excuse me if this sounds outrageous, I'm a software man not a hardware one :p)

So would it be possible to make the Envy 14's screen/lid removable, placing a cheap ARM/Atom processor into the lid and a small battery (this would, inevitably make the lid thicker) allowing it to be removed to function as a simple tablet and the docked for the laptop/more powerful experience.

If this is possible, would anyone on this forum be able to carry it out? :p

Where are these videos? 14.5 inch 16:9 screens are especially rare...

Anyhow, this isn't easily possible. It is possible if you have the know-how to design your own ARM-based computer from the ground up, integrating display switching features while keeping the screen light enough to hold comfortably and keeping the thickness of the PCB to <1 or 2 MM
