First, a quick thank you to all the E14 owners for the wealth of information that helped me buy my otherwise great E14.
Here is my issue:
I am connected to my home wifi network, which is connected to the internet. Everything works fine for a while, then pages suddenly stop loading completely. I'm still connected to the wifi network, and it's still connected to the internet (verified with other computers, Blackberry, etc.). But nothing will load. I toggle the F10/wireless button off and on, and pages will reload. Sometimes it takes a few off/on cycles before it works again.
I've tried new Intel Wireless drivers to no avail...
My E14 is Radiance, 450m, 2+2GB, 160GB SSD
Router is Verizon FIOS rental labeled Actiontec MI424-WR Rev.C
Please help! I don't want to deal with (shudder) HP Support!
Cliff's: Wifi connected, internet stops loading, toggle wifi off/on, works again.

first of all did you try a brand new clean windows 7 install? That should more then likey fix the issue because you might have some hp app conflicting with it

Is this an american Envy?
if so, download newer intel 6200 wifi drivers.
IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless and WiFi Link Drivers-Only for Windows 7*
huh there's a newer version that came out 11 days ago.
well either should work.

Thanks for the replies.
I have not done a clean OS install. I consider this a last resort, but it may come to that... I have however un-installed numerous HP softwares including HP Wireless Assistant.
Yes, this is an American E14. I am running Intel Driver Version 13.3.0.24. Interestingly my computer thinks that driver is dated 7/14/2010. -
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
I am having the same problem on wifi, especially at school. Pages just don't load.
It started happening after installing internet explorer beta, updating bios and other drivers. -
Interesting... I've only touched the wireless drivers and haven't touched the Bios.
I am using Chrome, and have only used IE to see if it worked during a failure. -
When i first got my envy i had loading issues.
Did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, updated bios, and drivers.
Then I install Acronis and made a image of my drive.
Installed I.E. 9 and that really screwed up my system. I restored image which only took 8 mins. Now back to normal, word to the wise make a backup image.

does your wireless router do speedboost or readyboost or whatever the linksys thing is.
that could also be breaking things. -
I can't find any mention of that in the user manual:

I'm not sure then.
do you have a third party firewall like zone alarm or something. that could maybe mess things up.
otherwise maybe some setting for the wifi and your router don't like each other. Do you have a password on the router, maybe it's not authenticating stuff correctly after a little while.
are you still using hp wireless assistant, that could be breaking things ('course if you uninstall that then you can't easily turn off the bluetooth adapter so...whelp)
maybe wireless N mode is angering things (I dunno...probably not) -
hey guys I wanted to add some input to this thread too so see if you guys can shed any light on my situation:
While I'm browsing the internet or downloading for a period of time, the wifi connection just drops and the wifi logo on the lower right hand bar reports that there is no connection. But there obviously is because i have my old laptop sitting RIGHT NEXT TO IT browsing the internet at the same time.
-I did a clean install with Windows 7 Pro which did not rectify the issue. (I did install the drivers from Hp's site and the drivers from SWSetup.
I'll try downloading the updated driver and if it works i'll tell you guys. PLEASE help me... I really don't want to deal with HP Support -
