Hey guys, I haven't checked this forum is a while, I hope everyone's enjoying their Envys. Anyway, I just noticed this thing where sometimes all the colors on my screen would become washed out as if I turned up the brightness settings too high. By brightness, I don't mean the backlight, but rather the "brightness" setting in the color configuration. It only happens when I'm using the Intel IGP and when I switch to the ATI, the color would be fine again. As soon as a switch back, it will be washed out again. The only way for me to solve the problem is to restart the computer as I prefer to keep the ATI gfx off until I play games. Feels like a software problem to me.

Anyone else notice anything like this? I can't reproduce the problem as it appear to come at random.

I have noticed this too, I posted in the Envy 14 problems thread but no one has responded yet. I just noticed it was doing this after switching away from full screen video. I think it may be trying to increase contrast to make video watching easier on lower brightness. In other words, I think it's a 'feature.' Still, I'd like to know how to turn it off.

I have seen something similar. I haven't kept track of when it happens but I can tell you that I don't have to restart my computer to get rid of it. I just minimize all my windows and it goes away in a few seconds. It's random, I know. Also, It doesn't really happen when I open the computer. It just happens sometime during use.

If it happens again ill try to remember if it was on the intel or ati card.

Oh yea, it could be the full screen video. I watched a full screen video the night before and closed the laptop lid after the movie finished. Speaking of full screen videos, do you guys notice that sometimes the video would get gradually brighter or sharper or SOMETHING and then suddenly change back to normal. The gradual part is not noticeable but when it jumps back to normal it is definitely noticeable. It's as if the picture suddenly get darker and smoother.

I'm using Media Player Classic - HC by the way.
