I am having problems when I hook up my Envy over hdmi to my lcd tv. The picture does not fill up the entire screen. This happens on my desktop as well but in CCC on my desktop there is a scaling option. I can not find that option in the ccc for my envy.
This problem happens with any resolution.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

I should also say I tried search but it appears to be down at least for me.

ccc is a pain on laptops.
start it up. go to desktops and displays.
right click on the lcd tv/hd tv icon/the thing that isn't your laptop screen.
pick configure. In there will be scaling options, resolution options, adding extra 1080p options (60hz, 50hz, 24hz, 1080i, 720p, etc)
in general you use 60hz if you're a NTSC country (US, japan, some other places) and 50hz if you're in a PAL country (europe and stuff)
24hz is for those special newer TVs that offer "TRUE HD" and can do 24hz/120fps/whatever. -
Thanks for the quick reply.
It seems that my only options(even in advanced mode) are desktop are, color quality, refresh rate and rotation(landscape, portrait etc. No option for scaling. -

huh. maybe it depends on the tv. I get several other options. what display option are you on (clone, projector only, extend?)

wait. are you even in the right place?
how did you get to desktop properties?
you're supposed to go destkops and displays, right click on the lcd tv icon in the bottom left and hit configure. it should bring you to a different menu. However it may depend on the graphics drivers/CCC version.
your other option may be that full screen scaling is on.
you can't turn that off (or even touch it) until you set the envy to a resolution that isn't 16:9, then go to desktop properties with the envy's screen and turn off full screen scaling, then apply, then put the envy back at 16:9 -
gotcha. I was clicking the lcd monitor icon in the middle of the ccc screen not bottom left.
oy, thanks. everything is working great now. Thanks a bunch -
Congrats on solving the problem. Just for people who come to this page from a search, I had a similar problem before. For me, CCC would set the "overscan" to like 4% or something when I connected my Bravia. It would result in a black area all around the picture. I figured out that I just have to turn the overscan back to 0% to have the picture fill the screen. I hope that helps someone in the future, lol. Ciao.
