hi! brand new to the forum, but i have been reading threads for quite a while. anyways, heres a possible hint that the envy 14 refresh is almost here:

So i was in the market for a new laptop, and pretty much decided on the envy 14. So i was checkin ebay, and stumbled on this guy who sells refurbished beats envy 14's. ( colocomputer | eBay.) looking for more info on his deals, i called him to ask some questions. I asked how many laptops he has, and he said around 25 at the moment, which sparked the curiosity of how exactly he gets him. So i asked this and his answer was that he gets them straight from the manufacturer. then i asked if he will continue to have them coming in, as i was not planning on purchasing one right at the moment, and wanted to make sure i would be able to get one from him. heres where the leak comes in. he answered me by saying "no. we've stopped getting these from the manufacturer, because they are no longer making them" (not exact words, but roughly that). anyways, if what he said is true (that hp has stopped with the envy 14's), then that can only mean 1 of 2 things. 1) they are discontinuing the product (which is reTARDED) or 2) [hehe] they are releasing the refresh very soon. i guess time will tell. :D thought i'd share this with yall.

they were having problems with the beats and weren't offering them for a while and may still not be offering them. Thats probably what he was referring to.

Yeah, the Beats edition kind've underperformed - its styling is more divisive, it's usually priced higher than the regular edition, and it never had the Radiance screen. I think it would be great if the E14 were refreshed soon, but I wouldn't say that discontinuation of the current-gen Beats edition indicates that.

It was unavailable for a period of time recently. Guys on ebay put their beats for sale for $ 1500 stating it's no longer being offered by hp.

I'd rate this info as being "Mildly encouraging, but ultimately inconclusive without further support."

Let's face it. My bet is the E14 will get a refresh, but the date is just unknown.
