    Envy 14 replacement screen

    I bought the envy 14 when it first came out last summer and recently, I've had some issues with the monitor (2 blotches of dead pixels appeared). I sent it into hp and they said that they cannot replace the monitor (I assume it's because they've stopped making the original 1600x900 monitor since they no longer offer it as an option when you buy the laptop new). Is there anywhere that still sells the monitor? Or does anybody know what else I can do?

    The company that made the screen is gone. If HP cannot replace the screen with a comparable screen, that is HP's problem. You are within your right to ask for a complete notebook replacement. I suggest you pursue that course of action because it will be difficult to find the same quality and compatible screen like you have now.

    If you're comfortable taking the screen apart, I know a supplier that will sell JUST the panel inside the screen.

    hey, i need to replace my envy screen (inside panel) i was wondering if there is something that can guide me along take my screen apart, the envy is different than most other computers, please and thank you
