    Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone out there has sold their used envy 14? I am planning on selling mine and I'm just wondering what kind of prices people are getting for them, assuming the notebooks hardware an cosmetics are in perfect condition.

I have an older envy 14 from august 2010 with the radiance display, 4gb ram, i5 processor, stock graphics and HD. How do you guys think having the radiance display will effect the price?

I'm not tryin to sell my computer, I'm just looking for any helpful advice.

    Thanks in advance!

you might get anywhere between 650 and 900, depending on how fast you want to sell it.

Any idea what is the best way to market it? Ebay? Craigslist? Pawn Shop?

Either on this forum, or eBay. I'm in the market for an envy with the Radiance display, feel free to PM me about yours if you'd like. I'm interested.

If you are willing to sell in the UK through AVforums, you may get a considerable amount - the last one sold on there went for about £950.

HP said that they would give me a completely new laptop. Does anyone have a dv6t quad edition? Is the build quality comparable and screen comparable to the envy?

Apparently the screen upgrade is pretty good, though it's not a high gamut screen like the radiance.

As for build, its a few notches below the envy : less metal , more plastic.

    Also, no backlit keyboard.

If you don't need the added performance of the SB refresh, the Envy 14 with Radiance remains one of the finest laptops of its size. It has all the basic goodness of the E14 - build quality, backlit keyboard, sound, etc, and the best 14" screen ever made! The only thing comparable is the Dell XPS 15 with the B+RG screen, but it is much bulkier and heavier and will run you closer to $1,500 unless there is a super-hot coupon out.

You'd do best to check recent sales prices (not listing, completed sales) on the E14/Radiance, but unless they have dropped dramatically in the past 2 months, I would list it at $999 and hold out for at least $900 unless you are in a hurry for the cash.

Though HP has recently come out with matte finish 1080p screens, they don't compare in brightness, contrast or color gamut to the Radiance screens, which remain at the very top of the field (see notebookcheck.net reviews), and for many, the screen quality (provided the hardware is as good as 1st gen Core i) is THE selling point of a notebook. The Radiance will make you smile every time you use your computer, while a second gen anything will be, well, just a computer each time you use it. Again, unless you need the power, gaming, or special features of SB components (eg, 1080p WIDI), a used/refurbished Envy 14/Radiance, or even Sony VPC-Z1 is very likely to be the most satisfying notebook you can buy for around $1k. And at that price, if you add an SSD in place of the DVD (to the Envy), your computer will feel far, far faster than a Sandy Bridge machine with a spinning drive.

Oh yeah, all of the above is: IMHO :D
