    Hello everyone.

I hope someone here can help me, but I just got my new HP Envy 14. Out of the box the system was working perfectly. It then started asking me to download all the new updates for Window 7 and for HP as well. After downloading all the new updates, and I checked each one before downloading them, now my machine takes a lifetime to shutdown and restart. and when it would finally boot back into windows, I would get one of those messages saying that Windows has recovered from a severe crash, check for updates, which when I do, the window just disappears and nothing happens.

After many attempts to locate the software that was causing the issue, I just did a factory reset and that took away the problem, however I was back at stage one with needing to download all the updates... So this time, I downloaded the updates one by one and rebooted after each one so I can pin point the bad software. Well, after I completed that, the machine continued to work perfectly. There was only two software's that I did not install, so I thought it was over. Until I got home from work and bang, it was back to 15min shutdowns again.

If there is anyone out there that has experienced this please let me know how to fix this, I hate to call HP b/c I know they really have no clue about computers. :(

Thank you to anyone that can help!
