I plan on purchasing either an Envy 14 or Lenovo T410.

The Envy would basically be a stock one for $1086 after tax. This includes the 2 year warranty.
The Lenovo would be about $1180 after tax.

    The Lenovo would have
    Bluetooth 3.0
    NVIDIA NVS 4200M
    Intel Core i5-2520M Processor (2.50GHz, 3MB L3)
    14.0 HD+ (1600 x 900) LED Backlit Anti-Glare Display
    [add $20.00]
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (2x2 AGN)

The ram and hard drive I would replace using Newegg, so these are the main specs to compare to the envy. Also, I will be doing light CAD work, so the NVIDIA NVS 4200M is desirable.

Even though Thinkpads do not have the best screens, the 1600x900 is appealing. Also, I trust Lenovos more for reliability.

So would you consider it safer to just get the Lenovo in spite of its considerably lesser quality GPU, or the Envy?

If only HP released the Envy we all wanted my choice would have been easy
