I'm one of the folks who's Envy 14 with the Radiance display was cancelled. I was not going to go with HP after this but the Envy 14 is still pretty much the best laptop for my needs...good size, well built and still powerful.
My question is, is the BrightView a good display? I know it's not comparable with the Radiance but I'm wondering if anyone here with an Envy 14 with the BrightView display can tell me what you think of the display. I'm hoping it's still bright and sharp even if it is a lower resolution and not the quality of the Radiance.

    Thanks in advance.

the brightview display is not bad at all. Of course, u cannot compare this screen with the radiance. However, the screen is still pretty bright and crisp. the 1366x768 screen is sufficient for ur daily needs. Good enough for decent gaming and HD movies. i think its worth it .

It's worth it my friend...the BrightView is just fine for 95% of folks out there IMHO; but if I ever get my hands on the Radiance!

No. The price is out of its class without the screen to distinguish itself. I wouldn't unless it's dirt cheap.

EDIT: Reread your post and realized you qualify for the $500 off $1399 discount. It's a toss up in that case. Depends on how important a nice screen is to you. 95% of the folks "out there", but probably more like 75% or less of the folks on NBR.
