In the manual for the 1200 cto it mentions a 5730 for the Envy 15. On the promotional site ( Link) for the Envy it also mentions this. The option isn't on their websit yet, but I think we can expect an updated Envy 15 in the (very) near future.

Woah, nice find. I really hope they enable switchable graphics on all models. If I can get 5+ hours battery life out of this machine then I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Agree, just give ne discrete graphics and backlit keys, the two main things I love about my MacBook pro, gotta love using this computer for 5-6 hours not plugged in. I hope we see an updated Envy 15 very soon.

Why do you call that a refresh? I didn't see anything new about that model.

If they give the E15 an E2E display and a backlit keyboard, it will be tempting. I guess I could live with an external ODD. They need to offer some different laser etch designs as well.

Exactly, E2E and backlit would swing my decision from the E14.

.. Now if they would only offer new etch designs, a better touchpad, and a improved tilt angle.

I'm not very confident in a backlit keyboard showing up. I haven't seen anything that would make me think otherwise. I really don't see what the big deal is about having an ATI 5730 option...just a downgrade.

Nice find! I hope they will do a slight refresh. I've been in a holding pattern for a new lappy...now waiting on the envy 14. However, if they do an update on the 15 in the next month or so, I might consider it. I really don't need the optical drive the 14 will be offering. However, I am in love with backlit keys and can't really see myself being without them. Like a few others posted...If the 15 were to adopt switchable graphics and backlit keys I would be all over it.

I've also been looking at the dvt6se which is a good alternative if envy 14 pricing turns out to be ridiculous when I spec it out the way I want.

I wouldn't get that either. The important thing about this to me is the indication that a refresh is coming rather soon. I can't imagine a marketing team putting up information about a product too far in advance. This also confirms the information in the online user manuals.
