So the Envy's 1920x1080 resolution looks great for games, but I'm mostly using this machine for work. Is it just me or do all the other resolution settings look either stretched or a little blurry?

Usually if you try and output your computer in something other than the native resolution (in this case 1920x1080) it will appear blurry or stretched. At least that's how it has always seemed on the laptop I'm on right now.

You also have to ensure that the alternate resolutions that you try are still at the same aspect ratio as your screen so that one of the dimensions doesn't stretch (ie: 16:9)
Your alternative, if your main reason is to increase text size I assume, is to just alter the DPI setting to a higher number. This should have the desired effect without significant issue caused to image clarity. -
jack up the DPI. I was toying with a demo unit the other day and set it to 150% and it looked awesome.
i have my dads 1080p monitor set to 125%, usually keep mine standard but i can see why a laptop with less real estate you need to crank it up
