idk if a sensor is messed up or what, but my core#0 is always ~10*c higher than my core#2...

right now its 33/23*c using it lightly, havnt really stressed it yet

also, dont you have to give it some time for the artic silver to set in / do its thing before you start seeing the temp drop?

81 degrees max on the CPU and 71 degrees normally isn't bad at all considering your room temperatures. I get in the mid to high 60's for both after playing CoD 4 for a few hours, and I live in perpetually cold and rainy western Washington. I don't quite remember the maximum for Core i processors, but usually anything below 100 degrees is fine.

And if it gives you some peace of mind, we have a Macbook Pro with a core 2 T9400 running Windows XP. It runs with very low fans, so the temps generally sit at around 78 degrees C. Only when I watch some Youtube or play some games and the temps go greater than 90 degrees (about when I can use it to boil water) do the fans start to kick in. We've had it for about a year and a half now and it's still running strong, so I don't see why 80 degrees in your worst case should cause any trouble.

First of all, what program do you use to check temps? I use HWMonitor. Secondly, if there is a difference more than 2c on load, not idle, then the thermal paste was not applied evenly.
