    was your question ever answered? I purchased an Envy and have yet to open it, I ordered it with a standard 2.5' hard drive.

    Do you know what the SATA connector cable is called? (or the spec for each connector end). Im considering two ssds for my setup and bought the single hdd model with only one cable. I hope you can help :)

    I have done some search on PM55 , HM55 . Only a few notebook support Raid on PM55, PM55 does have raid controller, but for reducing the cost of product, manfactroy may take it out form motherboard, or for some reason they disabled that function in bios. Only a few 17'nch PM55 notebooks support raid this moment, and they are all quite heavy( most of them are over 3.3kg to 4.0kg) :(. HM55 doesnt have raid controller.
