Hi,
I'm very interested in HP's envy 15 line with the ATI 5830 GPU (i7-720/820). I do have one big concern however, and that is heat. Could anyone post their max GPU / CPU / HD temps they usually get while running an intensive game / benchmark?
It would be very much appreciated![]()
Thanks,
Alex

Here are my temps. They range from being in power saver mode to gaming for a while without overclocking anything. See spec in my sig.

that's pretty good. anything under 80c is fairly cool IMO.

I think it's ok. The CPU fans are screaming in some games, whereas the GPU fan is barely audible. The latter only becomes loud when overclocking the graphics card to 540/1100. At this speed the GPU hits 74C.

Rather than make a new thread, does anyone have the temperatures for an Envy with an Arrandale (i5) processor?

I5 Temps:

Also, first time using CPUID, do I need the pro to see my graphics card temps or am I doing something wrong, GPU-Z is a little annoying (also first time using). -
These temps are all amazingly low. Except for (understandably so) idle, they are lower then my (admittedly over-clocked) desktop with coolers that would never even dream of fitting in a laptop. (both video and cpu)

Those were after Gmod and Dirt 2, give me something better to run and I'll post results.

@theeply: My BIOS version is the same as yours, F.24A. I have seen many different temps posted around this forum, so maybe it's just differences in cooler fittings maybe? Unless my temps get out of control, i don't think i will open mine. Afraid of the ribbon cables
My GPU temps rise to about 73C while gaming OCed. -
