    Hi

I installed an Crucial m4 128GB last week into my envy 15 (2nd gen)
Now, since crucial have updated the firmware to 0009 and includes some nice performance improvements i want to update.
Before updating the firmware you have to put the drive in IDE mode,
but how do I do that? I cannot change it in BIOS, unless I missed it?
    Any help?

    Thanks

From what I have heard, that particular firmware can be flashed in AHCI mode though officially you are supposed to switch to IDE mode.

The instruction manual says different, without IDE mode flash cannot be done

That is true, however some have reported not having to switch to flash.

Enter advanced mode in the BIOS and change your mode.

I'm not sure if the envy 15 has an advanced mode but it's worth a try.

No it didnt work to enter advanced, I was active in envy 14 threads before, I tried it on both my first and second gen envy 15 without luck.
