I flashed to f.24 with no problems before HP yanked it. Just now I flashed to f.26a, and now I'm noticing that with every soft reboot the laptop recycles power - power light goes off and back on, even doing a ctrl-alt-del on a DOS prompt!
I'm not 100% certain it was this way with f.24 as I haven't had the need to boot to DOS until now (just whacked the stock HP OS). But I sure don't remember the computer recycles power with every Windows reboot.. Is this how HP is fixing the wakeup and/or black screen problems that I never had?
This can't be very good for those who have a spinning platter hard drive - I got one myself I got the 160SSD+250HDD.

I know how you feel... When I flashed to f.26 I am scared to do a reboot because I can hear my harddrive power off with a clangy noise... that can not be healthy

Have you tried turning off quick web in the bios?

yep.... you get the same thing

I'll sacrifice my Envy 15 to try to revert back to f24 - right before I ship it back as my replacement is coming next week. I hope my replacement doesn't come with f26a already on it. This not only puts unnecessary power recycles on the hard drives, but it takes longer to reboot.
Envy 15 f.26a firmware recycles power with every reboot
