Hey all, I have an Envy 15-3040nr and the card reader driver will not install.

I get PCI Device as unkown hardware in device manager and the hard id is:
    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&REV_01

Which is the card reader. I Downloaded and installed the windows 7 64 bit driver (SP56908.exe) from HP, ran as administrator and it still wouldn;t work.

I even tried to update the driver manualy by targetting the folder C:/SP5908....folder, and doing it manually with the "have disk" option and selecting the .ini but I just get there's no drive ror it's not x64 compatable.

I'm at a loss....anyone have any suggestions or fixes.

Try an alternative Realtek Driver, see if the drivers of this site provides you the right Card Reader driver (check the REALTEK RTS-5208/5209/RTL-8401 one).

Well I gave it a shot and same results...I did the setup file, I tried to point windows to the folder and tried to do a manual isntall with the specific driver and no dice.
