I believe I have G2, got it in May iirc...it has i5 and the 1080p matte screen..

The colors look washed out and dull compared to my old Sony FZ190, which IMO, has one of the best screens Ive ever seen.

Ive messed with the gamma settings and some other settings and it helped a little...then today, I fired up the old Sony and seen what Ive been missing...

Does anyone with the same setup I have know of a "fix" or some setting changes to get better color out of this (IMO, pos!) screen?

Nobody else has this "issue" with their 1080p Envy 15?

the screen looks fine.... it does have a slight blueish tint that can be easy fixed in the ati control panel....

I have a similar screen and I too think the colors are pretty decent. I've never seen the screen on that Sony model before so I have no idea how it's supposed to look. Just by chance, have you ever messed with the color settings (in particular the color saturation) on the Sony? I find that jacking up saturation tends to make the screen more colorful and give the colors more "pop", although it causes certain colors to merge and look the same. In fact, I have the saturation turned up a bit to 110% on my Envy, and it feels a lot more pleasant to look at than the factory default settings (imo).
