If I have the choice between a 6 cell, or a slice for $50 more... Should I do the 6 cell or the slice?

Using the slice is equivalent to carrying around two extra batteries (53 WHr on the 6-cell vs. 146WHr with the slice) it's very heavy, but extremely thin.

Extra batteries would be lighter, but not quite as thin as the slice. With the slice installed, the laptop is still thinner than many comparable laptops.

I went with a 2nd oem. Cheaper, fits in laptop bag accessory pocket, and works great for me as I never go over 5-6 hrs without chance to plugin somewhere. Plus I got a deal on mine. The weight difference is huge. The slice is over 2 pounds heavier than the oem battery.

However, keep in mind with 2nd oem battery you do need to either suspend or power down your machine to swap and I don't know of any external charger for the oem.

I went with the extra 6 cell as well. I've read that there were issues with connectivity with the slice so I stayed away from it. It's probably fixed by now, but you should double check.

I went with extra 6 cell... the weight of the slice was prohibitive, as well as the connectivity issues; on top of that I'm pretty certain that the 6 cell is slightly less convenient but plenty enough battery power for my usage. Add to all of that a greater cost of the slice, and I figured 6 cell was the better choice.

I really like the slice, and I am happy I bought it. I never have to carry around my power adapter, and I never have to worry about when the battery dies. The laptop first drains the battery on the slice, ten switches over to the laptop battery, which makes it really easy.

My only concern would be the weight, but it's nothing I can't handle.
