    Hi all,

I am having constant issues once again with a new laptop of mine. I have a 3209tx Envy 15 laptop which has the 7750m AMD Radeon card.
My firefox and videos in general were just choppy and not smooth so I uninstalled the AMD driver. And just like the problem I had a month ago, I can't find the appropriate drivers/software for it.

When I go on the AMD website, when it does the autocheck and download option, it says "AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on yoru computer.
the version of your graphics adapter is not supported"

The only thing I can download off the AMD website is the 145mb file (8.2) which I think is for desktop computers not only. Finally, I have tried this updated file : AMD 9.00 Driver With Archives and Apps Updates. - Guru3D.com Forums

However, that doesn't work either. Unless I am doing something wrong (don't know what)? I did uninstall the original drivers and tried the driver sweeper?

    Any help would be great.

You can install AMD CCC 12.7 or 12.8 beta drivers... Here's a link AMD Catalyst 12.8 (8.982.0 July 27) AMD Official WHQL - Guru3D.com Forums
These drivers work on the AMD Radeon HD 7750m and 7850m card...

I wouldn't say it's recommended, but it works. I'm running 12.8, simply download and execute to overwrite the existing drivers. Although now that you've uninstalled the AMD drivers I don't know if that will affect your switchable graphics. I'd go to HP's website and download the official drivers or do a system restore if you have one.

Thanks everyone for posting. I tried that adamdoom89 but it didn't work. None of them work :( It just says that the catalyst program is not compatible with the driver or something like that.

But I reinstalled the HP specific driver and that worked :) I think because the HP Envy 15-3200tx has the switchable graphics. I don't know much about all that but I am thinking that is why I have to use the HP specific only. I spent 2 days trialing every single driver and software to not avail.

Is there any HP Envy 3200 users out there that were able to install the non HP drivers/software/catalyst software? Its just the HP was released all the way back in April and I want the latest drivers for my laptop.

These drivers should work just fine on the AMD 7750m card... Make sure you are only installing the Mobility Version. Install them right over the HP Drivers...

Thanks Adamdoom89, I thought they should have worked as well. I'll try installing the mobility one now without uninstalling the HP one.

I'll let you know how it goes

Thanks Adamdoom89. It worked now!! I didn't know you had to install it over the HP software/drivers. My impression was from forums was that you have to uninstall everything so there are no conflicts. Guess thats not the case for HP notebooks.

BTW, any good program to test my graphics performance to see if it is up to par with yours and everyone elses?

    Thanks everyone again :)

Just glad you got it fixed. Regarding the Performance question, I would just run some games and see what FPS I'm getting with Fraps. You can also run 3D Mark 11 on performance mode and compare it to other users scores. The score you should see is in the low 2k range...

Are the performance gains worth the hassle?

No its not worth the wait Shepdawg. If I knew it would waste 2 days trying to sort it out definitely not. But if I knew from the start the process then yes its worth it.

BTW, these are my 3d MArk 11 scores. Is this ok for a HP Envy 15-3209tx?

IMHO, you are much better off sticking with the HP drivers. I tried some newer Catalyst drivers on top of the HP ones and only ran into problems with the "2011" computer in my sig.

It's really just downloading the appropriate driver and running the installation - no hassle at all.

I didn't notice any real performance boost, but it's worth noting that going from the default drivers to 12.8 CCC I'm able to overclock higher now. My max before crashing was ~660Mhz, I'm now doing 675Mhz easily. I've yet to test the upper bound before it crashes.
