For anyone looking for Windows 7 drivers I have compiled most of them for the 15-j059nr. My company purchased several of them for the sales people, but we use W7 within our domain. The process was a pain so I'd like to help a few people from scouring the web for all the drivers. Most were pulled directly from the HP site but a few required some searching:
sp61949 = Nvidia 740m drivers
intel_usb3_win7_ver25019.zip = usb 3.0 host controller (asus)
sp61819 = synaptic touch
sp61258 = IDT Audio Drivers (?) - I can't get these drivers to take...
sp61273 = Intel Graphics
sp61797 = usb 2.0 port replicator (?) - If you plan on using a HP Port Replicator
sp61798 = usb 3.0 port replicator (?) - If you plan on using a HP Port Replicator
sp61263 = Valdity Fingerprint
sp61271 = Realtek Card Reader
sp61291 = HP 3D HDD Guard
sp61612 = HP Utility Center
sp61261 = Realtek LAN drivers
sp61265 = Intel Chipset
sp57698 = HP Software Framework
sp56163 = Intel Rapid Storage
sp62194 = HP UEFI Environment
sp57063 = Essential System Updates
BT_3.0.1304_s64 = Intel bluetooth drivers
sp58915 = HP Support Assistant
Wireless_15.8.0_Ds64 = Intel ProSet Drivers (WiFi)

You are a godsend! Thank you very much!
BTW, did you ever manage to get the audio working? I noticed you said the IDT drivers didn't take. -
Could give me some more information on how exactly you got windows 7 to install in the first place please?
I've been trying to do this for hours through a USB drive I made with windows 7 on it. I changed the bios to legacy boot but after i keep getting an error stating a required CD/DVD driver is missing. when i try to install -
Jonat1992, I'm working on the same issue. The problem is that Win7 doesn't natively support USB 3.0, and all the ports on the HP Envy are USB 3.0 (none are 2.0). This affects trying to install through any drive/device connected to a USB port. Still trying to find a workaround on this thread:

I was able to install everything via USB stick (including W7) and all the drivers came from one of those driver sites that uses an app to scan your PC. BTW, I was able to install it on the mSATA drive but was never able to install the HDD back as it would not boot when both drives were connected. I may go back to W7 since I am only using the mSATA now with 8.1.

All you need to do to make the install work is go into Bios and set USB 3.0 from enabled to Auto. Win 7 will then install without problems.

This list is my saviour, although the Realtek driver doesn't work (yours is for Win8). Any ideas?
Thanks
