My Envy 17 3D (1x) backlight is not working. The mute light above F9 and the WIFI light above F10 are going off and coming on fine also the caps-lock light works fine.

When I press fn+f5 for the backlight, nothing happens. But, when I do fn+f2 or f3, for brightness, those work fine, all of the other keys work fine as well. I'm just not sure why the backlight is not coming on.

I've tried pulling the battery, disconnecting power and holding down the power for 30 seconds, but that didn't do anything.

Hoping someone else here has solved this problem.

    Thanks,
    Josh

You should simply be pressing F5 for that. The function key + F5 is the reload function.
