    Greetings, everyone!

The positive info on the Envy 17 threads here made me decide to replace my old Dell with an Envy 17 3000. (Refurbished, the only way these beasts can be made affordable in New Zealand.)

The laptop has arrived, and, past the first moment of awe, three questions arose to me:

    1. Is there a way to reverse the behavior of the function keys (F1, F2 etc) so that (for instance) by default F2 means F2, whereas Fn + F2 means "decrease contrast"? In the BIOS settings I noticed an option to turn off "function keys", but that doesn't sound like it would reverse the behavior? [EDIT: tried the BIOS setting, it does work and correctly invert the behavior of the function keys.]

    2. The laptop came with a 750GB hard drive. I ordered a Samsung SSD, planning to use it as the system drive, which means reinstalling Windows etc. I downloaded all the drivers from the HP site, but didn't notice anything for BEATS audio. If I do a fresh system install on the new SSD, will Beats work? [EDIT: from looking at other threads, it sounds like the BEATS software is packaged with the IDT driver that is both on the HP website and in SWSetup\Drivers ?]

    3. Last time I installed a system with an SSD and a conventional storage drive, I followed a guide that suggested what to put on the SSD and what not to put on the SSD (because apparently each SSD "cell" has a limited number of write operations). That was a while ago. Has anyone recently set up their Envy with an SSD + storage drive and have insights or good links about the process that they could share?

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend
