I finally received my factory refurbished Envy 17 32XX (non-3D) yesterday from an eBay seller. I have found that instead of sounds out of the speakers all I get are clicks. I can make them louder/softer with the volume control. This applies to watching a Blu-ray movie, listening to a CD, playing a game (Civ V) and even system sounds. Using HPs support software I downloaded and reinstalled the sound drivers but that didnt help. I contacted HP support only to be immediately told to just return the laptop to wherever I bought it. I tried to explain that I also purchased the extended 2 year HP warranty with pickup/return service but the service rep (with a very heavy accent) wouldnt listen to me about it. These laptops are getting harder to find and I really want to have it repaired, I do not want one of the newer Windows 8/dv7 ones. Has anyone experienced an issue like this with HP support? How do I get them to fix my laptop?
Also, has anyone else experienced this problem? Can it even be fixed? If I do manage to send it to HP under the warranty what should I expect to happen? How long will it take?
Thanks.

no answers for you, but does the headphone jacks work???

When I plug in headphones to either jack the clicking sounds stop from the speakers but I get no sound at all through the headphones.

I don't think you have any other choice but send it in (or back)... sorry...
