    Hey guys/gals,

I got my hand on an Envy 17 3D 1st gen the other day for really cheap. I've done a clean install and I have 3D working with games via Tri-Def but I want to watch a 3D blu-ray, and I've installed the Mediasmart software and I ran the DVD program and it comes up but there is no 2d/3d, nor demo nor settings in the program to set 3d, when I put in a 3d blu-ray it says this player is not a 3d enabled player.

I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks!

    - Josh

Ehm might be a stupid question from my part, but are you sure the program can play 3D?

Hope it's not a too stupid one

I have my Windows 7 64-bit ultimate. The laptop, didn't come with any restore and I don't have access to a 1st Gen Envy 17 3D 'swsetup' directory.

Okay. Have you downloaded all the software from HP's Support & Drivers website?

I have and I have their version of the MediaSmart DVD installed, but it's no the 3D supported one, I've checked both versions (which are the same) that HP is giving to download, on their support section, for the 17 3D 2x (SB) and 1x, bot the same, no 3d support, so I'm not sure where to get it.

Perhaps you should contact HP's support, or order the system restore DVD's.
