    Well, the thing with the business line of Dell's, they really overprice the memory and HD's. Choose the smallest possible amount of RAM and HD space, and go for aftermarket upgrades, and you'll see the price is actually pretty reasonable overall. Oh, and as you say, Quadro4000, really.... Just that option alone is like a $700 upgrade, and it's totally a waste of money unless you're really into heavy professional applications that take use of CUDA. The Firepro has better game performance (HD6970 vs GTX480), and do professional applications very nice aswell, and it costs only a fraction of the price.

    Depends on who you talk with at HP. Yes, HP sales will give you the basic speech. All they can do is exchange it for the exact same model. If you want a shot at a real deal/change of order specs...then you need to either get Resolutions on board, and in the event its above their heads, you will need to request an Executive Case Manager. From the stories we've heard on these threads, some can be good, some no so. They apprarently have the last say in the matter, but they can work some insane deals. The one that sticks in my mind was when lovelaptops had an ECM upgrade him from an Envy 14 to an Elitebook 8740...but that was one rare deal. :eek:

    I don't want freebees....just want a good deal on what I am paying for. Again, if my "Final" Envy 17 3D SB does have these stated throttle issues, I don't think I can quietly sit by and just swallow the pill. Updates will be coming accordingly. :)

    KJ :cool:

    I wonder how the fix is going you guys, has anyone been using it with success for a few days already?

    I have a HP Envy 17 SB still from the last replacement (I can't ship it as I don't have a Label and HP Research Team is not picking up the phone...). I haven't really bothered to touch it since I had my latest replacement.

    I am going to try making a final push tomorrow, that will be my final call before the HP Envy 17 gets stuffed into a box, and put in the garage until HP Contacts me. If they do pick up the phone, I will just basically be asking for information regarding the issue and of course a shipping label.

    I am not going to pursue HP to get their laptop returned after nearly 3 months of pretty much hassling/blowing dozens of hours on diagnostics for them if they don't pick up.

    My temperatures are really good, I mean they are almost the same as without TS, maybe 2-3Celsius higher but that's not much so, seems fine :D

    EDIT: They are around 80-84 Celsius, maybe should add that :p And that is after playing a game of course or else they stay on around 50-55 Celsius even with TS running, so they seem very good :) And even when playing they don't stay on 80-84 but the highest have been up there, mostly around 70 Celsius something, while playing. TS seems to be a great fix for now

    I just sent a report to the BBB, hopefully this will get HP's attention.

    @MiRRe89

    Just want to know
    What are your idle temps?
    temps when watching movies, heavy/flashbased surfing?
    temps while gaming (considering 70% load)
    temps on furmark (100% load)?

    I would like to know that for both CPU and GPU
    Thanks
