This is to my fellow Envy 17 users. I want to know, is this normal? I've never seen this in any previous laptop I've used, and I don't know if this is what would be called "backlight bleeding" or something else, or if its just normal for the Envy 17.

This last picture isn't very realistic. In real life, the screen is quite dark, with only a little white on the sides. There is no blue spot in the middle.

It means the plastic screen panel is not stuck on properly. They used double-sided tape, btw.

Is this something I should get fixed with warranty? I mean, how is it likely to affect the long-term durability of the screen? -
I had one E14 that came like that - You can try pushing the panel in and see if it sticks. The side effect is that the panel can flex and there is light leakage. Depends on if you can tolerate it, but you can go for the warranty anyway.

Ykn,
I can tolerate it since its only a problem when you look at the laptop from the side. However, my main concern is how this is likely to impact on the longevity of the laptop? Will the problem become worse over time?
In addition, it does mean the sides are slightly white when they are meant to be black, which would slightly reduce the quality of my gaming/video watching experience. Nevertheless, my main concern is how this will affect the long-term wellbeing of my laptop.
Thanks for all your help.
