Hello! I'm new to these boards so hello to everyone!
I just purchased my first HP Envy 17 and I'm curious as to how fast or slow the build and shipping is for this. My build date is estimated to be 9 days from today and I requested 1 - 2 days shipping. My specs are below if it helps answer the question at all...
Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
2nd generation Intel(R) Dual Core(TM) i5-2410M (2.3 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.9GHz
1GB Radeon(TM) HD 6850M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI]
8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
2TB 5400RPM Dual Hard Drive (1TB x 2) with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
No Additional Office Software
6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery (standard) - Up to 2.25 hours of battery life +++
17.3" diagonal Full HD HP Ultra BrightView Infinity LED Display (1920x1080)
SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
HP TrueVision HD Webcam
Intel 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth(R)
Backlit Keyboard
Just curious if it builds quicker than estimated and if it ships within 24 hours (I'm not saying I WANT it too just asking is that a possibility since I got 1 - 2 days shipping)
I also ordered Dr. Dre Beats "Studio" headphones as well as a wireless mouse, do these come within 1 - 2 days of the purchase since they don't have to be built (and since I got the 1 - 2 day shipping)? Or will it all be shipping around the same time the notebook is built and shipped out?
Sorry for the load of questions.
Thanks guys!

If memory serves me correct the headphones/etc should be shipped separately, however if not you can call in and they should do so.
No I have never heard of HP building a laptop within 24 hours. The only way to get it shipped asap is to order a Quick Ship model. -
Thanks for your reply. What I meant about 24 hours was when it's built and they ship it since I have 1-2 day shipping is there a chance to get it overnight after they ship it or does it normally take 2 business days?

Since these are coming out of Shanghai there is about zero chance of you getting it within 24 hours of build.
As best I can tell the customs process is normally streamlined, and FedEx seems to be doing a good job of getting these moved through. I'm basing that on my experience and the experience of others... A few folks have had some holdups but I think in general they have the logistics in place to get this done. But getting anything from Shanghai to your doorstep within 24 hours, especially if you hadn't paid for special handling would be a minor feat.
So are you going to replace your iPad with the new HP tablet when it comes out ??
