I am considering the Amazon Envy 17 with i7 Amazon.com: HP ENVY 17-1011NR 17.3-Inch Laptop: Computer & Accessories . Will this work to run Starcraft2 and new generation games on pretty high settings? I will also play some MMOs, like the new Star Wars game. Overall, are 17 envy owners happy with game performance?

I was also considering an Asus G73, but there is so much bad written about it, that the HP looks nice in comparison.

    Thanks!

I don't have an envy 17 but an envy 14. What i can tell you is that I run my settings at medium and even at that I get lag spikes which is really annoying. I don't know if its the video card drivers or what.

I think its a video card software issue and not the computer itself. I have been doing 4on4 with 200 max units and its fine running at medium to high.

I just got mine a few days ago...SC2 runs on max settings very well. Singularity on max, and Crysis runs on high settings with decent frame rates. Besides it running pretty hot on the left side, I'm very impressed with my Envy 17.
