    Hi all,

I just got my new envy 17 from Amazon, and in general it seems great. However, after running a game (lord of the rings online, not the biggest processor hog) for an hour, the computer is really hot. I have a cooling pad with a fan, that keeps the bottom cool, but the left side is searing hot. Even resting my left hand on the metal below the keyboard when I type is a hot.

Is there anything to do about this? Is it normal? Is it dangerous for the long term health of the computer? I don't want things to burn out over a month or so if it stays this hot.

    Thanks

Um, ok, that is a 370 page thread. You are right, I did not spend 8 hours reading the whole thing to pick out the particular info in hopes it would be there. Instead, I asked for it in a separate post. The message board police may be on to me, but perhaps someone may post their experiences.

I did see on the front page some interior temps linked, but this did not really answer the questions I asked.
