    What is the major difference between these 2 laptops apart from
    1) Better graphic card that Envy offers and
    2) Backlit keyboard

    The look and feel of both the laptop looks almost the same

    I believe they can both be configured with the 6770.The screen on the Envy is better I believe.

    Assuming you upgrade to the 1920x1080 display (Be sure you do this, don't get the stock 1600x900 screen) I believe the displays are equal, except for the glossy vs anti-glare coating. Not 100% sure about this though, I just remember hearing this.

    The DV7t 1920x1080 display is anti-glare, the Envy 17 1920x1080 display is glossy.

    There are coupon codes for both. 150SUMMER for the Envy, NBP61449 for the DV7t.

    Thank you. That is the reason why I've choosen Dv7t over ugly XPX 17 . Because I want that HD Resolution (though XPS too has HD resolution though).

    How is the inside panel of these modern day DV laptops? Does it still contain that shiny steel chrome interior with shiny steel keyboards or changed? Does backlit keyboard really makes that much of the difference between

    What confuses me is that although it seems like the Envy 17 houses a better graphics card than the dv7tqe, Notebookcheck ranks the 6770M higher than the 6850M. Even the benchmarks for the 6770 seems more favorable. Is there any other site that compares GPUs like this?
