The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Haven't been able to find an answer anywhere about this, does this model have a UEFI-based firmware ?

    last time HP updated the firmware on this model was back in april of 2011, so I don't think it's running any recent version of UEFI ....

    asking because I am running windows 8, and assume that secure boot is not enabled due to this ....
