I'm able to play Old republic on here, all low settings. I get about 30fps. Its pretty playable until this sucker starts blowing incredibly hot air and the game grinds to a halt. If i alt tab out and back it comes back and I can keep going for a little while before it all goes to hell again. Last time this happened I tried playing WoW on here. It dropped to 0fps rather fast. This was a few bios revs ago and I thought it was solved. Has anyone found a solution to throttling aside from cooling pads?

You could check your temps using hwmonitor/hwinfo64/gpu-z, and depending on how high it gets, considering cleaning out your vents and fans and repasting if its possible in that laptop. Also if your vents are on the bottom of the laptop consider elevating the vents for better airflow.
