Hi guys, a few weeks ago I spilled some cereal on my envy 15, through the touchpad, and had to repair it with a used motherboard I got bought and gave to the guy that fixed it, out of warranty btw. So he gives me back the laptop and the touchpad is not working.
I opened the laptop because the left speaker was not working and managed to fix it, one of the connector leads was crooked. So the guy that fixed the touchpad said he checked the touchpad and came to the conclusion that it probably shorted out because of the spill so it needed to be fixed. Thing is when I opened the laptop I found that the touchpad cable is not there, the guy probably lost it.
The problem is hp only has one part replacement for the touchpad cable and one for the top cover that includes the touchpad w/out the cable which are both pricey. I was wondering what to do here as I am completely lost and have to use the mouse wherever I go...

Hey there,
I am in a very similiar situation as you are. Recently I took out my HDD and when putting it back inside i messed up the track pad's connector cable. Now my track pad doesn't work so I have to use my mini USB mouse...
All i need is that connector cable to work my track pad which sucks.. -
