Is anyone interested in having one? I feel like it would be an excellent way to organize all the knowledge on here.

Would you be an active contributor?

I'm thinking a page for the Envy 14, a page for the Envy 17, a page for running Linux on both, a page for trackpad updates, a page constantly updated by deals, etc. A lot more organized an interconnected than different forum threads.

I agree with ArchEnemy but I still do think it would be a good idea, it's hard to go back in threads to find out certain stuff, I think it would be great :)

    I for one will agree.
I have been seeing all the Envys all the time.
The 17 seems to be very expensive and it has also 3D option?
I'll buy another notebook in a year or so.
But most likeley a HP again.

Yea the 17 has the 3D option :) Might be a little expensive yes but what you get for those money are a mean piece of machine ( that sounded cheesy :p ) But you really get what you pay for :)

    Alright, thanks.
How does the 3D thingy work exactley?
Most of the 3D movies are only available in cinema's.
TV movies are just standard quality.
I guess its the BluRay but still cant figure.
My best thoughts is using the 3d glasses to view 3D from a BluRay movie?

To me, the sticky threads look extremely cluttered and disorganized. Not to diminish the guys that put them together. But it's easier for a community to maintain a wiki than for one guy to make sure his thread is updated.

You're on the right track :) There isn't many movies available in 3D (not in Sweden at least, not yet), I bought Saw 3D last weekend and it was awesome, of course it will increase with 3D movies since it's getting more and more popular :)

It works as easy as you put the 3D movie in, yes it's on bluray :) And then watch it trough PowerDVD10 or any other program that can playback 3D. The glasses on the Envy are really good cos they turns on when faced to the screen, there's a sensor.

BUT, what's awesome about PowerDVD10 is that you can take any movie you'd like and turn it into 3D, super awesome feature :)

Just two pages on that, and it's for the Envy 17. I'd prefer it be for all Envy versions.

    Ow nice.
Technology is just getting better and better.
I downgraded to XP and I realised Im very sorry.
    Its looks too simple and...old.
I'd like to get back to Vista x64.
XP on full HD 1080 looks awkard.

And now some notebook gets 3D option.
What makes me impressed is that 3D glasses.
    When faced to the sensor.
    Thats very handy.
I stole a 3D glasses from IMAX after cinema lol
    It looked stupid at home.

And ow, does it need a strong GPU for 3D?

The IMAX 3d glasses work differently from the ones the Envy uses.

Movie 3d glasses are passive, no electronics.
Consumer 3d glasses are active, meaning they have electronics and need charging/batteries

Also, windows 7 is a ton better than vista/xp. You should try it

Yup. No excuse to be on Vista. XP is really only useful if you have some sort of program that just absolutely can't run on 7.

I agree Windows 7 might be better than Vista.
But I dont wanna mess up the partitions and such.
So for me, its better to stick with Vista.

If there is 3D in the laptop it's a GPU that can handle it of course :) But I don't know how strong it needs.

You don't have to change any partitions. There's pretty much no reason to be on Vista if you have access to 7.

i never liked vista, it was very annoying to me i dont know why.
but windows 7 did a big improvement and i like it very much.
save all your data, run a clean windows 7 install and put all dump all your data back into it.
