    Hi Guys,

I am considering selling my old envy and upgrading to a new one. I would appreciate your opinion on if this is a worthwhile move. My specs are the following:

    Intel i5 Dual Core 2.53
    8G Ram
    500 G HD
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1G

My out of pocket cost to buy the new one / sell the old is 200. I am looking at the following model :

    2nd generation Intel(R) Quad Core(TM) i7-2720QM (2.2 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) w/Turbo Boost up to 3.3 GHz
1GB DDR3 Radeon(TM) HD 6630 switchable Graphics [HDMI, Mini Display Port]
    8GB 1333MHz DDR3 System Memory (2 DIMM)
750GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection

Will the Sandy Bridge processor / slightly updated video card make a difference? IE better frame rate on newer games
Also, whenever I play a game the laptop becomes scorching after 20 minutes...has this been fixed?

    Thanks,
    HP Envy Fan

I would definitely recommend trying to get the new envy 15 if it is not too big

Sell it and get an Envy 15 on Dec. 7th. 200 dollars is not worth the slightly better specs. Aside from being bigger than the Envy 14, the Envy 15 appears to be better in every single way.

Its an i7. Of course its going to get hot.

Thanks for all the opinions, I appreciate it. Waiting until the next refresh makes most sense...I'm not in a rush and am happy with my current envy. Thanks again :)
