With all the aesthetic and technological upgrades in the Envy line, I'm disappointed to see they're still using the same old HP Pavilion 90w AC Adapter that the basic models use (At least, such is my impression as an extra one is offered as an accessory when buying the Envy, and based on my old Envy14 gen1).

Its a pity we're stuck with the same old barrel plug ugliness. I was hoping something, thin, light, and magnetic - surely Apple can't patent a magnetic power plug - I remember using one, albiet bulkier, on an ancient Sharp PDA I used to have. Unfortunately, we're stuck with the same old barrel, but maybe its universal nature can be a blessing in disguise.

Does anyone know of a 3rd party or aftermarket AC adapter that would maintain the same 90 watt and plug compatibility, with a better design? I seem to remember the Japanese Sony Z has a "special" smaller, lighter charger that (unconfirmed) is one piece and has retractable cords? Are there any 3rd party designs that would be a considerable improvement in weight, size, or usability?
