The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Error 104-unsupported wireless device detected, but I havent added new wireless device

    I have a compaq presario v5000 and it has worked fine for about 3 months. Now it gives me this error 104 whenever I turn it on. All I can do is go into BIOS. I have not installed any new wireless devices. I contacted hp and they want me to send it in, but I have files I need for school and cant afford to give up my laptop for 2 weeks. Anything I can do to bypass this filter?
