My new dv6200 at random times , whether the wireless is connected, on, or off altogether, shows me a popup window that says that it "...cannot connect to this website..." and offer some solutions. The window has no "close" button in the upper right hand corner so the only way I can kill the popup is to go to task manager and "end task" there. ANNOYING!!

Is there anyway that you could post a screen shot of this? I don't know what program we're talking about here.

Yes. I have this same thing happen with my computer. It happened the very first day out of the box. I thought it was something that was happening with the initial processes of the computer, but then I started noticing it more. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it is really annoying. I'll take a snapshot of it next time it happens so you can see it.

Here's a capture of the error message. Notice, no way to get rid of it.

    seems like spyware to me
you could do a virus scan of your fll system
and also try a spywares or trojans search using a program like spybot or avg anti spyware
maybe the results of the respective scas ay help you solve the problem
    also try installing a firewall
