    Gentlemen / Ladies,

For some reason I am not being able to use the Ethernet port on a PA286A HP docking station with a HP/Compaq NX6325

OS XP PRO, SP2=clean (non-HP) install recently+patches, did not have station “docked” while doing the install, and when Nx6325 is “docked”, No additional hardware is id’d.

VGA works-have connected external monitor, charges NX6325 correctly.

Just for the heck of it, I undocked while computer ON, got a prompt about my presentation settings (docked, non-docked display brightness etc)

Ran a scan for new hardware… nothing found..

Ethernet port showing “green light” when connected to DSL modem, also noticed a small second light “flashing”, every so often… but no packets being sent (I think)..
    .
    Showing as:
Local Area connection, Status in network connections showing as Network cable unplugged, Firewalled , Device name: Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet

Ethernet works if plugged directly into the computer itself.

In device manager everything looks good.

On the initial OS install had a slight problem figuring out how to get the Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN up and running… I think Broadcom having their own software package, I think I opted out of that instead choosing the regular windows drivers…

I’m thinking that maybe the about is related, maybe their drivers offer “options” more so than the standard drivers?

Have I believe installed all the SP’s from HP, except for the above noted Broadcom package…

Ah.. crap-ola… Just checked Add or Remove Programs…
    Three entries showing:
    Broadcom 440x 10/100/10 Integrated Controller
    Broadcom 802.11 Wireless LAN Adapter
    Boradcom NetXteme Ethernet

    Only option being REMOVE..

    Any thoughts????

    Firewall?...
