Just a question: Is it neccessary (or reasonable) for a store to refuse an dv1000t laptop exchange (or possibly a return) until the buyer gives them the recovery cds created by the buyer himself?

    Thanks for the info.

It is not necessary. If the recovery partition on the laptop is intact and they can just use the recovery partition to restore the system to factrory state. They dont need any other CD's. If the CD's are of no use to you then you can include it. When returing most stores ask to include eveything that came with the laptop originally.
