Anyone have an idea of the timeframe I should expect for a replacement laptop?

My DV9000 laptop has been repaired 3 times, and needs to be sent for a 4th time. I was able to get HP to send me a new one and send mine back to them.

That was on TUESDAY 17th. Today I received a FedEX overnight envelope with my shipping labels for the return (Shipped Wednesday). It said to wait for my replacement product.

Do you guys think it will be 14 business days as they said to get the replacement laptop, or have you guys gotten it sooner? please share.

Preconfigured models that are currently available in stock can be replaced within a week, while CTO builds will take longer.

    I hope so :)

Mine is just the barebones of the custom config pages. All default with no free upgrades.

Unfortunately, a CTO is a CTO. HP distinguishes builds by product numbers, not model numbers. If it says "dv9000t CTO Notebook PC", it will have to be reconfigured from the factory.

However, if your model has since been discontinued, HP will replace it with whatever is currently available. You can ask them what you will get. Most of the time, they are more than happy to replace a preconfigured model for you as it's much easier for them as well.

Agreed, and I think the 'barebones' entry level is a CTO; or, at least it was when HP replaced my ZD7000 with the base model DV9700T. And, it took the full 14 days :( (but worth every day of the wait :D )
