I am thinking of buying a V3000t. Any users here have any words of advice? Should I buy the express service warranty worth $100. How is HP customer service? How is the build quality?

I am getting a pretty good deal on the V3000t. Core Duo + 1GB Ram for $700.

    Thanks

I own the V3000z which is basically the AMD version of the V3000t. As far as build quality goes, it is pretty reasonable. It does not creak when you lift the laptop from the corners and neither are there any glaring problems. The screen does not tilt all the way back which bothers some people and the finish is a bit prone to fingerprints but the color of the lid hids them well. The keyboard is not up to IBM standards and does flex a little bit especially aound the arrow keys, but other than that I felt they had good feel and is largely comfortable to type on.

HP has pretty decent customer service and I have had pretty good experiences with them, although you will find there are people who have had bad experiences with them. So, I would say they are pretty much middle of the road. They are not the best but they arent too bad either.
