Some of it may be allocated to video by the BIOS........
-
some of the ram could be being allocated to graphics... if you have integrated or "turbo cache"
-
yea i have my video card set to allow 128mb of my ram for use but before when i had it like this it was still reading 2gb of ram.
-
Probably an updated graphics driver changed how Windows reports it. I used to get varying results when playing with the modded drivers available online.
-
Which OS are you booted into?
-
ok. that picture was taken while i was booted into vista. I just logged in over to my Windows 7 account and it shows the full 2.00gb of ram...
Just more proof that the 32bit version of vista is a joke -
Or that Windows 7 is just reading it inaccurately. After all, ram allocated in BIOS to the gpu is technically not available to Windows anyway.
Just out of curiousity, are the graphics driver versions the same between the two Windows installs? -
Vista SP1 or RTM? Vista upgraded to SP1 displays the amount of installed RAM. Pre-SP1 it used to display the amount of RAM available for it to use.
-
I am on SP1 for vista.
