    Hi

I upgraded QuickPlay to 3.6 and it works fine with the remote, but when I press on the green WMC green button, nothing happens. It used to work. Any ideas? My notebook is a dv2637tx.

We have an exact setup but mine still works fine even after the clean install. Im guessing you might have changed the settings or disabled something unknowingly. Check your task manager and see if QLBCTRL.exe is running

I have the same problem, the green button on the remote isn't working.

I checked my taskmanager and QLBCTRL.exe isn't on it. I reinstalled the software, how to I get it to work.

You sure u guys havent disabled QLBCTRL.exe on startup? Try double check the media center's settings as it also launches an .exe on startup called ehtray.exe and something else.

Yes I disabled that. I try keeping my startup as clean as possible. If that's the issue then I'll enable it again and see how it works. I'll post back if it worked or not.

I have the same issue and its been that way since I bought it. The only things I have done was to uninstall all the usual bloatware/update the drivers

If ehtray.exe was disabled it could be the problem. ehtray is a media center function, as is ehrecvr.exe. ehrecvr is to do with the remote control receiver, but I'm not sure about ehtray. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

With setups like ours, does it really make a difference... Is there any noticeable performance gain?

First off, I'm sure you gain something, second, I like to keep my startup as clean as possible, there are only three programs that start with my windows, firewall, AntiVirus, and fingerprint software. nothing else starts up.

Because I have so little startup items, My machine starts up and is ready to use in under a minute.

I keep mine as clean as possible aswell, but mine still works fine. I have to keep disabling ehtrey.exe everytime i open the media center. The only thing i can think of is QLBCTRL.exe as this controls the quicklaunch buttons. If you do a clean install it will most likely work again, but too much trouble

I did a clean install a while ago and it hasn't worked since. I got a brand new replacement laptop a while ago. Out of the box the remote worked amazing. it responded perfectly to every command. After I did a clean install, I can seem to get it to work.

I installed WAU from Vista Home Premium to Ultimate. It broke a few settings, so I had to re-install Quick Buttons and it was from the c:\swsetup\QLB ver 6.40B1 and my green button worked again. Once I installed the latest version 6.40B2 from HP website, the green button stopped working. Uninstalled B2 and installed back B1 and the green button works again.
