Im going to purchase either an HP vr2000 or Compaq V3000 in the very near future and one question thats been bugging my mind is the extended battery thing. I am going to customize the notebook and i dont know if i should get the extended battery or not.
Its just the extended battery looks awkward sticking out from behind...
does it really look that bad?

How much battery life do you need?

I think its worth it, but the only thing is can you handle the fact that it stick out at the bottom? Also, I dont agree with wobble, because the less charge cycles you have on a battery the longer you can keep it. but then again its all depends on how you use it. if you use it consistently like, from full to empty then charge then you shouldnt have any problems. I would get it, if you dont like it you could always get a regular battery on ebay for much cheaper, then you would if you were to get the extended battery since there is a much higher demend for extended batteries.

I have a 12 volt battery and love it. You get 5 + hours instead of 2+ hours. It is a little heavy and does wobble a little. Like the previous thread, how much time do you need. The other thing to consider. I use it on my lap a lot and the left side gets very warm. The 12 cells sticks out and cools the notebook more. I hate to see how hot the 6 cell would get. DV 2000z
