    Well here's my story in a short and sweet manner. I've had three HP Envy 17's, all with their own special defect. The most recent one ordered from Amazon, had the soothing and calming noise emanating from the inside. As much as I loved the noise and even though I fixed it, I don't want to have to somewhat 'live with' my computers problems, so I inevitably returned it.

    Now I'm looking to get an E14, hoping that they announce an update for it as CES for Blu-Ray, new GPU, high-res screen option again, things like that. I've heard as many good things about the 14 as I did the 17, but all I've had with the 17 is problems.

    Never used an external monitor with a laptop but I've heard many people rave about the great functionality of it. If anyone out there does this, please I'd like to hear your opinions and what you suggest for a great external monitor.
