Hi, I just purchased two Samsung SyncMaster B2430's to connect to my Envy 14

I'm typing on here right now and talked to the Samsung rep regarding these issues and have not been able to resolve them.

Firstly, the Envy14 only comes with the minidisplay port and the HDMI ports

I purchased a minidisplay to hdmi converter along with 2 hdmi cables thinking it would do the job.

I connected the monitors and noticed a visibly poor picture quality (blur around the fonts) and edges cut off, as if the resolution was too high for the monitor to handle. (taskbar, icons half visible, etc)

The samsung rep told me that the the monitors are not compatible with HDMI as it is with DVI connections.

My question is, if I get converters to go from "HDMI to DVI" and "minidisplayport to HDMI to DVI" would the monitors function as if I connect the laptop through solely a DVI connection?

Edit: "minidiplay to dvi" and "hdmi to dvi" cables

    Thank you for your help

Oops yeah I'll do that. but will the monitors recognize it as a hdmi/minidisplay connection or a dvi connection? I'm afraid the monitors will retain the current problem since the origin of the connection is from the hdmi/mini display ports
