I'm having a problem with my HP Pavillion DV6 attached to a 32 inch AOC monitor.

Its exactly same as the person here is experiencing.

What happens is that the external monitor connected to the computer randomly goes "off" (turns totally black) for ~ 3 to ? seconds. I have detected no pattern to it. I.e., occurs when typing, occurs when just sitting reading an article with no keyboard or mouse input. If I am typing, and continue to do so while the monitor is black, the typing is there in the running application when the monitor turns back on. Will occur several times in say an hour. Won't occur and then occurs again after maybe 6 hours.

Tried everything and googled as much as I could, but still no solution. Anyone here has any idea what it might be?

p.s. Was using this same monitor with a diff laptop with no issues at all.

Have you tried updating the drivers?

What cable are you using to connect to the monitor?

Am using a SVGA cable, and drivers are updated.

    I see.

Is the 32" AOC a monitor or a tv? What resolutions are you outputting at?

I guess we'll just chalk it up to one of life's unsolved mysteries then :)
